Newsround

Target Audience – Newsround is targeted for 6 to 12 years old children from every nationality. In Newsround, there are many presenters that are from different race, nationality, skin colour and gender.
Presenter – The presenters in Newsround are Martin Dougan, Jenny Lawrence, Ayshah Tull, Nel Hedayat, Sonali Shah and Leah Gooding. Their nationality are Afghan, Indian, English, and African. The presenters speak formal and use minimum slang.
Language – Newsround main language is English.
Style - The presenter dress appropriately towards children but wear casual clothes to connect with the viewer’s more and allow them to feel comfortable.
Studio – Newsround is targeted at children, which is why they ought to have the colour scheme purple, blue and neon green. Purple is mostly liked by girl while green is mostly liked by boys. There also put blue to be neutral. Newsround puts a range of different to attract children. They also designed the studio vivid because the colours are bright which expands the child's attention span.
Angle shots – Newsround frequently uses long shot, medium shot, medium close up, close up, eye Level and two shot.

Channel 4


Channel 4 was first launched in November the 2nd, 1982. Channel 4 is funded by advertising and sponsorship. Channel is a publicly owned, commercially-funded public service broadcaster. Channel 4 is not shareholder owned. Channel 4 is a statutory corporation, independent of Government and is administered by executive and non-executive directors. The executive and non-executive directors are responsible for guaranteeing that channel 4 achieves its objective and provides its financial responsibilities. Non-executive are selected by the OFCOM in a contract with the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport.
Angle shots - Channel 4 usually uses (OSS) Over-the-Shoulder Shot, Two-Shot, CU (Close Up), MCU (Medium Close Up) and MS (Mid Shot).
Studio - Channel 4 usually uses a room where it slightly see through, which you can see the background of the room. This is to show that this news is real and from Channel 4. This could also indicate that the news should be taken seriously because the environment is a workplace.
Style - The presenters are usually smartly dress. For example; Suit, Tie, Trousers, Dress that isn't too revealing. This is to create a serious atmosphere and also show that the news that they are presenting is serious.
Language - Channel 4 usually communicate with formal language because they do not want to offend anyone and also to be able to communicate with the viewers.
Presenter - The presenters are over 30 which would make it more believable that the news is factual. One of the presenters is aged 67. This shows that the public can trust channel 4 because the older generation is mature and less likely to lie.
Target Audience - The target audience would be adults over the age of 25. This is because the presenter of Channel 4 are usually people over the ages of 30. 


E4 


Information - E4 is a British digital television channel, launched by Channel 4 on January the 18th, 2001 as a pay-tv companion. The E stands for Entertainment. E4 has 'sister' channel which are called Channel 4, Film4, More4, 4Music, Heat, Kerrang!, Kiss TV, Magic, Smash Hits, The Box, 4seven
Style - The presenters wear clothes that are attractive but not revealing. The clothes are fashionable and unique to themselves.
Language - They use formal language but more comfortable than Channel 4 because it has a younger target audience.
Presenter - The presenter are fashionable and wear cloths in trend to appeal to 15-35 age group. The presenters are young and attractive to attract viewers.
Target Audience - The target audience is 15-35 year old. E4 is a British television channel that focus on the younger generation.
BBC News


BBC News is an operational Business division. BBC is an acronym of British Broadcasting Corporation. BBC News is the largest broadcasting news organization in the world. They generate around 120 hours of radio every day. They also cover news online. The director of news and current affairs is James Harding since April 2013.
Angle shots – BBC news uses mid close-up (MCU) and mid shot (MS). BBC news uses these shots often to show the audience their expression on the face and how they communicate with their audiencs.
Studio – The BBC News studio is usually a room which you can see the background. The room has a see through glass at the back which shows the viewer the work place of BBC employers. The reason why they chose a studio which people can see the BBC workplace, could be because they wanted the viewers to take the news seriously.
Style – The presenters wear formal clothing and always has a straight face. For example; Suit, Tie, Trousers, Dress that isn't too revealing. This is to show that they are serious and professional.
Language – The language they speak is English but is also is other language such as Portuguese, Chinese and Arabic. They also speak formal language to appeal to every target audience but it is people in their 30+.
Presenter – The main presenters are Huw Edwards, George Alagiah and Sophie Raworth. They are all older than 30 years old. BBC News did this to shoe the viewers that the programme is accurate because they have people knowledgeable and people with experience.
Target Audience – The target audience is mainly 30+. I know this because the language and clothing they wear are usually based on the older generation.


Mind-Map 




Biased/Balanced

My programme would be balance and objective which will be communicated with the viewers with the same expression by the presenter which will not change the decision of the viewers.
The information and facts that my TV programme would included the damage made for both side. Mentally, physically and the society.
The presenter would act neutral because we are not going to manipulate the public by expressing only our opinion or limited facts which will lead the public to having an similar opinion.

Social Media 

My programme would be using Facebook, and twitter since its the most frequently used social networking site. Our programme would use Facebook and twitter to give the viewers regular updates as well as previews of the upcoming episodes. this would be shared and posted in video format. 

Themes 
The first episode would be the Conflict of Palestine and Israel. The different elements of conflict I would be putting in my news programme would be the damages caused by the Palestine and Israel war. I would introduce physical and mental sufferers that have survived the bombing. The society in Palestine and Israel. Their opinions and what they think of the war.

Reference to the Community 

The programme would targeted at students aged 15-18 years old in London. the students would most likely be studying GCSE and A-Levels. Although are target audience are students in London, we will allow people outside London to have access to our programme. International viewers should be allow to access our episode on our website. For disabled teenagers, we will try to communicate with the viewer by making a new channel that is specifically targeted at disabled teenagers.
The presenters will be most likely be black and mixed race. This is because Acton is multi-cultural and also more black and mixed race people live in Acton. It would be multi-cultural background to show the diversity of Acton.
Statistics and Theory
In my news programme, I would like to add in ‘how people from Palestine and Israel feel about the land they are both fight to take and protect.
Israeli teenager named Rudberg - “The Israelis have given West Bank territories to different groups of people so that they can live there,” Rudberg said. “According to all the peace treaties, it is in Israel’s hand, but Israel is allowing people to live there.”
Palestinian teenager named Abdeljalil - “I just feel like as Palestinians, we just felt like Israel has gone way past what it should’ve been,” Abdeljalil said. “They’ve left us with, what, five percent? One country is separated. [Israel] has all the resources, they have all the land, and they leave the Palestinians with nothing.”
I would also talk in my news programme the restrictions that Palestinian face and the protection Israeli feel.
‘Restricted by 20-foot-walls filled with graffiti and the Israeli military justice system, many Palestinians from West Bank have to go through several checkpoints just to go into Israel where many of them work or go to school. On average, two children are arrested each day.’
Israeli teenager named Rudberg – ‘Rudberg now sees the checkpoints as a necessity because of the number of people—and countries—that want to harm Israel.’ “I think that it is very much a pain and I’m aware of that because I’ve gone through those checkpoints before,” Rudberg said. “Those checkpoints are necessary.
Palestinian teenager named Abdeljalil – ‘Abdeljalil finds crossing the borders humiliating and miserable.’ “I just feel like they’ve gone way past the point of, ‘Hey, let’s live in peace,’” 



This statistic shows how many deaths occur monthly in the conflict of Israeli and Palestinian war. Both countries are affected by the horrific conflict leading to them having death monthly.  After 2009, both counties have faced less death which continues for several months. Slightly after December 2012, the deaths increased for both countries immensely .

Promotion


I would be using social media, as well as newspaper, magazine, TV adverts and billboard. This would attract teenagers and also would be accessible and noticeable. This is because most teenagers use social media to communicate and connect with people. Teenagers who do not use social media would mostly get their information from newspapers or magazine. This would target a small percentage of teenagers who do not use social media would become aware of our news programme by newspaper and magazines. We would show information in the posters and billboard to attract people who do not use social media, newspaper and magazines. This will make the majority of people ware of our news programme and connect with our local community, we would make the local community feel comfortable and also be aware of their feeling while reporting the news. We will not be prejudice or biased to try not to offend people. We would be reporting based on facts and also try to balance the new 50/50. This would make it balanced and also objective.


Proposal


Title: My production company is called Youth TV and the news programme is called ‘Wassup with Palestine and Israel?’. This is an educational and enjoyable programme for children and its purpose is to make children more aware of the situations in Israel and Palestine.


The title was created by being attentive of what children would like to watch and what would attract them. The title is made to attract children. I used slang because children nowadays usually use slang and would like to be ‘cool’. This title will attract children to watch this programme because they will understand more if it’s not too formal. We focus our reporting on subjects that we believe are relevant and interesting for children nowadays.  


My news programme is different in style and is unique. I saw that they is a market for children news. My news programme is unique because it shows the damage war has done in both countries. We have interactive feedback on our website where we encourage visitors to ask questions and mention topics that we can respond to, in this way we aim to stay topical.


Ownership: Youth TV makes programmes for children. We worked on news programme like ‘Cyberbulling’ with channel 4 to raise awareness for cyber bulling. We also worked with ‘am I normal’. This is about witty, heartfelt and unique stories of LGBT life.

Genre:  My target audience is 11-18 and would the production crew will make the program fun and will state fun facts. The production crew will add music and sound effects to the program and colour graphics to engage the children in a fun way.


Target Audience: My target audience is aged 11 - 18 and for all genders. Within this age range, it’s not common for many children this age to watch news or read them. This is why, we at youth TV decided to do this programme. We made this program to help children with less knowledge about the Palestine and Israel conflict.


Competitors:  We at Youth TV are different than normal production company. We are special because we insure that the viewers will understand the program and also increase their knowledge. We also give 100% factual information which will have evidence to back it up with. It will also have actuality footage.


We have qualified and registered journalists who check all sources. Before we run with a story, we independently verify the facts with close contacts in the affected areas.


Costs: My leading presenter is Lee Seung which is 25 years old would be paid £40,000. The studio would cost £1,000 to rent a studio is west London for a month.


Outline: The slogan that my news programme will use is ‘interacting Youth’ .


The techniques you intend to use; hidden cameras, on street approaching, studio interviews, street interviews, handheld action shots, studio autocue method?


The techniques and angle that will be in my news programme is asking the public and street interviews. I would also use hand held camera to show action scenes. The angles that am intending to use is medium close up, close up, long shot and wide angle.


The program will be set in London and the area would be Acton. We decided to do Acton because we researched and found out that many people that is aged 11-18 years old don't have much knowledge of the conflict between Israel and Palestine. The studio is called IQ studio which is located in London near central.  


The type of presenters we have at Youth TV are young, clever but bold people. The presenters also should wear a certain type of clothing to portray to the children. The clothing should be not distracting but trendy and can attract children.
